My photography style
Joyful, Expressive, Soulful & Timeless
From Penguins to Paws
Hi - I'm Lori and I started Red Leash in 2010, but I've been a photographer for almost two decades. My background is in environmental science and education, and I work as an Expedition Guide and Nature and Wildlife Photographer in some of the most remote places on the planet, including Antarctica.
At my core, I believe that experiences are the best souvenirs, that you should learn something new every day, that animals are the best ambassadors for a balanced life, and that photography is a way to convey how you feel without needing to find the perfect words.
My images aim to evoke emotion - capturing natural expressions, true personalities and the special bond that you have with your pet. My style can be described as classic portraiture meets National Geographic. Working with animals in the field has made me incredibly patient, yet flexible and spontaneous when the perfect once in a lifetime moment presents itself.

I believe a photo can help us connect, care, and even take action.
Inspired by Antarctica
In my two decades as a Nature and Wildlife Photographer and Expedition Guide I have seen how images inspire conservation of animals and the environment. And as a Pet Photographer I know that a photo that shows a dog or cat’s personality and charm can be the difference between if they get adopted or not.
